The paddocks have been ploughed and are ready for planting. Above is the planter in action - it lays drip tape for irrigation, plastic for weed and moisture control and plants the seed all in one go. It sounds quick, however the process is slow - travelling speed is 2.1km/hr!

The seeds have been planted and watered and will take a few days to start appearing.

As we keep planting we can see our previous hard work starting to "grow" - its great to see and puts smiles on our faces.

Our crop is growing well. After only a few weeks the pumpkins are "starting to run" (vines start to spread out) and have buds which will develop into pumpkins over the next couple of months......

....the vines have now spread and make the nice neat rows look like a jungle of pumpkin leaves! The plants are producing masses of bright yellow flowers and the pumpkins are begining to grow.

The pumpkins are still small (about the size of a rockmelon) as they still have another 4-6 weeks of growing before they start to ripen. When fully matured, they will be around the size of a basket ball. As you can see, the plants are very healthy and producing some very big leaves (that is my size 6 foot in the photo - Sharan)

The pumpkins are slowly starting to ripen! Described as 'pretty pumpkins' they have remarkable stripes that fade as they become bright orange.

Perfect pumpkins to produce The Green Oil!

Harvesting: this fantastic machine picks up the pumpkins on the big spiked wheel (first pic), then they travel along a conveyer to a crushing drum (second pic).
